Man. I can't tell you how glad I am that the end is near. Only a half day left of clinic standing in my way between some exams, the weekend, and the end of this rotation.
I don't have any profound thoughts other than this rotation was a roller coaster (mostly of emotions). I am grateful for all the positive experiences I've had, and even more grateful that there are people who are called to this world of unique situations. I have a newfound appreciation for the human body in female form. How God decided to create a blind pouch inside of us that essentially empties out another human being after enough time has passed and then regenerates, I'll never know.
I've felt more stretched on this rotation than most others for reasons I can't pinpoint. It's just been tough for me even though the hours were easy and the expectations for us minimal.
Things I am looking forward to:
- Sleeping in and then Saturday morning jogging with S and trying my new Flip Belt (I bought it for $12 because there was only one in pink left at the time!)
- Lunch with my Iowa Family. It's been too long. The last time I saw them I was sweaty, hooked up to oxygen, and laying in an ER bed.
- Doing one good thing for myself this weekend (I haven't yet decided what).
- Doing one good thing for someone else
- Talking to my boo thang daily
- Loving on some new basil plants
- Baking something
- Not having to think about my waning fertility and all the complications and horrible outcomes associated with pregnancy and childbirth and being female and aging and gynecological cancers and menopause every single second of the day
Here are some favorite pictures as of late
