The wind chill advisory says "feels like -15 to -25". I was outside walking to my car yesterday in -25 windchill. My hair wasn't completely dry from my swim, and a chunk froze on contact with the air, and then cracked when I bent it. I chuckled when it happened, but it was kind of crazy.
Last night I went to bed wearing two layers of pajamas and fuzzy socks, with four blankets on my bed (one of which was an electric blanket set to medium). I was still cold.
I also wake up in the middle of the night with my tongue uncomfortably stuck to the roof of my mouth. I've been tracking my fluid intake because I thought I had some sort of homeostatic disorder, but turns out it's just the (lack of) humidity. I've been trying to hit the 2L mark everyday. It's a challenge because it means reaching for the water bottle every 15ish minutes, but I still feel parched.
I've been seeing a lot of snowman pictures in my newsfeed, and I wish I could make a snowman with the snow from our last blizzard. But it's too dry to pack down into balls, and sort of just crumbles. Plus it's dangerous to be outside (frostbite ~ 10 min) so I guess I'll just stick to photos for now.
