med student health

It seems like all the healthy habits I developed over summer have regressed. Worse than regressed. Sometimes I'm straight-up awful to my body.

Things I've thought or said aloud in the last few weeks:

"I'm glad there's pizza at the meeting so I don't have to waste time eating dinner." It was a lunch meeting. On most days of the week I eat one meal a day. I've also done a few inadvertent 24-hour fasts for no reason other than I was too engrossed in studying. There go my six pounds of muscle gained from intense training this summer.

"YAY buy one get one free Starbucks! I'm going to get two pumpkin spice lattes and drink them one after other." This happened today.

"I didn't buy the 54-pack of Rice Krispies today, but I got this 80-pack of fruit snacks instead."
"If I can't microwave it, I don't buy it."
"I had a handful of macadamia nuts for dinner. I'm good until tomorrow."
"What is the most calorie-dense food I can buy at the hospital cafeteria?"
"This is the only vegetable I've eaten this week." It was a pickle. On a hamburger.

In other news, I forced myself to take a 1-hour break from studying this morning to go to the gym. I ran two miles and felt incredibly out of shape.
