California Adventure

D+C at Disneyland

A lighthearted post is in order!

I don't have classes on Fridays, and so I flew down to Socal to stay with D and his family on his spring break. D and I went to Disneyland, and it was fantastic! Despite the entire population of Southern California being there, rides breaking down as we got to the front of the line, and the not-so-great weather. D and I had a great time...just look at this washed-out photo of a photo:

The only rides we didn't get to go on were Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain. Oh well. We watched both World of Color and Fantasmic, which was fun. D is really good at getting around Disneyland and maximizing our efficiency. Plus, D is nice to me even when I'm cranky and the introvert in me screams for solitude after traipsing through two parks for fifteen hours. We sat down for dinner for over an hour and I didn't get up once. I'm not as young as I used to be...but Disneyland was still great fun.

Good thing D packed an extra jacket. And his homework.

We spent the next day relaxing with D's family, and that was wonderful as well. We ate breakfast, took a beachside stroll, ate lunch, napped, walked Biscuit, D's beloved pug, and then ate Korean barbecue for dinner. D and I watched the Hunger Games at night with some Cal alumni friends, and squeezed in a trip to 85 Degree Bakery. What more could anyone want?

We unfortunately had to drive up on Sunday, but it was a fun ride with a full car of friends and lots of Disney sing-alongs. It was so good to get away on a vacation (without bringing any homework! Not even a laptop!), even if just for a weekend. Maybe I'll be able to travel more in this next year while applying to med school.
