Busy times

Once upon a time as a premedical student with grand ambitions, I asked a panel of med students at UCSF how was it possible to find time for marriage/married life/their spouses in med school or residency.

One replied, "How could you get by with not having a partner during this extraordinarily busy time?"

It's taken several years for me to circle back to this point.

During my 7 weeks of surgery, I...
  • Ate way too much fast food
  • Made slow cooker chili once and then ate it until I'm pretty sure it went bad...weeks later
  • Forgot to pay my rent
  • Forgot to renew my lease
  • Forgot to pay my university bill
  • Did laundry once
I'm not saying I needed a partner to help me with these things, but I suppose it couldn't have hurt.
