Snow, snow go away

Everyone has been experiencing cold weather, but the Midwest has been hit particularly hard. Beyond the minor annoyances of having to allocate more time to dressing myself (wool socks, scarf, gloves, enormous coat, ear muffs, snow boots) it is actually quite terrifying to live in a snowy place!

I haven't tried driving yet, but instead got driven around by two friends yesterday. One thought it would be amusing to lose control temporarily at every turn just to elicit a reaction from me. It was 130am and the roads were unplowed. It was gut-wrenching.

View from my apartment. I live in one that looks just like that.
There's a street at the bottom of the picture in case you can't tell.

Five degrees doesn't feel all that bad.
I ran from my car to the gym wearing shorts and a coat.

On to cozier things! I made a sampler trio of puff pastry for some friends
to evaluate. Winners: raspberry-cream cheese, caramel apple,
and turkey and cheddar. I started the dough on Friday and finished yesterday.

Anyways, I'm going to stay home and study for my six remaining finals. Tomorrow, I have a Physical Skills Exam, in which I have to do doctory things like take blood pressure, auscultate lungs, evaluate musculoskeletal range of motion, and palpate livers. I couldn't tell you what I'm looking for though. Ask me in four years.
