Whirlwind trip | Med School Interview #1

Hello from home! I got back from Saint Louis late last night. Flying halfway across the country and back in 24 hours is exhausting, but I'm thankful for the trip and the nice, laid-back interview. People in the Midwest really are nice, like my parents had told me.

Most of the things that I feared going into it were assuaged, and traveling by myself wasn't too bad! Makes wandering around argument-free, except in my head. After an hour of giggling to myself at the robotic Lewis and Clark and stuffed bison at the Westward Expansion museum, I retired to my hotel. I'm not used to 80-degree weather and didn't have much water on me after going through the airport security. Sadly, there were no Starbucks to be found, except inside a hotel. Actually, there aren't any chain restaurants or cafes in the downtown area at all.

Maybe after the entire process is done, I'll write an extensive reflection on the road to medical school. It will include everything from a timeline to pictures and opinions on campuses. I've debated putting status updates or the like on Facebook, for the reason that it seems much less personal than this blog. But many of my older friends who had gone through the process themselves were extremely helpful in lending insights for me, and I want to do the same for readers who are interested. Even things like a picture of what someone wore to a school was useful! Stay tuned.

PS. The Lord has been so good in blessing me with the companionship of friends! Thank you, O and M for your letters in the mail. I don't think anyone knows this, but whenever I get something in the mail, time stands still for me until I rip the envelope open and devour the contents. Teeheee. :)
