American Dream

My parents and brother came back from New Jersey this week, after being gone for about two weeks. They brought back a dozen or so lobsters, so we've been eating through them at a rate of 1 per person every other day. I've decided I don't really care for the texture of lobster tails.

I have a 40-something Russian lady coworker at The Office who is still very much involved in the dating scene. ("Ven I come to America, no husband, no house, no job! Zees ees American dream, no?") She gave me some advice the other day as we were closing up:
L: Conie, conie--you must zeesen to me. Boys should be only a zittle better looking than monkey.
C: ....A monkey? Why?
L: So you vill look like PRINCESS next to heem!
C: Uh...so who do all the good looking guys date?
L: Each ozer!
I laughed all the way to the BART. She is hilarious, and I'm certain she believes 100% in what she's saying. I quite enjoy the company of all of my coworkers.

Now that I'm done with secondaries, I have more time to myself! Hurray! This weekend I pretty much stayed in pajamas (except for a 6.5-mile run with A) and read books and blogs. Sometimes I forget what studying feels like.
