W was a boisterous personality at the Office. He took a real liking to me, and after I got over the initial shock of some of the strange words that came out of his mouth, I took a liking to him as well. As a retiree, his days are spent playing with his house full of cats (
"My babies," he says) and complaining about Italian nuns' underarm hair. He's never been to Italy before.
I have a filtered folder in my email called "E-cards from W." It's collected over 100 cards over the last two years. I mostly open them when I need a laugh, or maybe just a smirk, or sometimes, complete puzzlement.
Honestly, I'm a bit afraid to click on some of the links he sends me--W was born in the 40s and has little or no concept of what a computer virus is. I don't dare open the ones that are titled "Cute cats playing with dolphins" or "fwd: A squirrel and a monkey kissing!!" I just take his word that they are indeed adorable.
Since you probably have not come across an e-card since the 90s, I want to share some with you. Here are a few notable e-cards, all screenshots of American Greetings:
| For my 23nd birthday... |
| ...Which was also Friday the 13th. |
| For all your St. Patty's Day needs |
| Not really sure what this one was for |
| Yes, that is a pause button, because the cow talks |
