Being in Berkeley for the last four days was a blessing. Although I live only twenty miles away, coming back still feels like a getaway to a totally different culture and lifestyle.
I went to Large Group on Friday for the first time since five months ago. I've always wondered how it would be to visit IV once graduated. I imagined standing in the back, coming late so no one would notice, and leaving early. But it was great to reunite with friends over surprised hugs and catch up in too-loud voices. Also, I don't think I could have avoided those playful nudges and grinning looks from across the aisles since D had saved me a seat. Oh, IV culture. Having been removed from it for a while now, things are a little bit foreign to me and it's that much easier to notice peculiarities and differences.
I don't have a single picture from this "weekend," which started on Wednesday. It included lots of fun things! Like trivia and prayer with the Fulton/Ashby girls, rainy day lunch with V over yummy Thai food, quality time and cooking chicken marsala with D (and roommates), attending the AMSA/ARC conference with D and M this year (post from last year), and sleepy late night car rides with worship music.
I would love to have more days like those. But for now, I'll be cracking open those MCAT books and doing my best to work toward my goals.
