Computey is about 4.5 years old now. Sure, it doesn't have a webcam, takes five minutes to load the Windows start-up page, freezes at least once an hour, and sometimes does strange things, but it's seen me through senior year of high school with college applications, and 99.999% of undergrad.
The .001% is because I've been a negligent, technologically unsavvy owner (in these 4.5 years, I've never installed an anti-virus) and it's finally catching up to me in my final weeks of undergrad. Even after A got rid of a virus for me last night, Computey is still acting funny. Computers are supposed to be able to turn off when you turn them off, right? And turn on when you turn them on? And load the internet thing when you click the Firefox button? And not suddenly seize and convulse and foam at the mouth when you're just typing away at a blog post? Right? Right?
Sigh.
Text messaging is the best way to reach me until I either get a new computer, set up nest at the Computing Facility, or develop my telekinesis ability.
What kind of computer should I get next?
