A Day at the Office | Bus ride

As I was sitting on theshuttle from BART to The Hospital, two people struck up a conversation.

"What're you going to the hospital for?"
"I got pain in my knees. I'm on morphine just to walk."
"Oooh, that stuff is strong. Strong stuff, that's what it is."
"Yeah, it's hard for me, since I used to be a drug addict."
"What drugs were you on?"
"Oh you know, crystal, speed, and crack."
"Day-um!"
"And I had my kid, you know, it was hard. He was just born."
"I mean, I did the cigs and weed and stuff, but man, that sounds rough."
"Yeah, but I thank God every day that I'm alive. If it weren't for Jesus Christ, I would probably be dead. He turned my life around. He redeemed me! I could be dead right now. But I look good for sixty, don't I? Haha! Oh boy, do I thank God every day that I'm finally on my way to heaven."
